Shandie Hensley is a graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in Creative Dance and has been teaching at Summit for the past 3 years. She teaches everything from Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, and Tap from ages as young as 2yrs all the way to 18yrs. In addition, she will also be teaching and assisting in Summit’s new Pathways Preschool program! In Shandie’s younger years, she took on the role of captain and co-choreographer of her high school’s dance team while also training at the Lake Chelan Centre for Dance and the Academy of Dance and Performing Arts in Wenatchee. During Shandie's time at UW, she performed in the musical production of Sweet Charity and the piece “Giddy Up” from the 2015 Dance Faculty Concert. Allowing one to discover their true identity through movement, encouragement and challenges is what motivates Shandie as a teacher. She is super excited to get to know all of her new students and to watch them grow!
