Sami is excited to be back year after year! She loves working at Summit, and is thrilled to be here full time! Sami has been a part of Summit since Day one. Seeing how much the students have grown and improved in the last two years is truly remarkable. Since the age of two, Sami has loved dancing, and started competing at just five years old. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and hip hop. At the age of 15, Sami began teaching dance at afterschool programs, and fell in love with being a dance teacher. After she graduated high school, Sami moved to Bellingham Washington to attend Western Washington University to pursue a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Web Design. While attending school she taught at a local dance studio, and participated in the WWU Hip Hop Dance Team. Sami was on WWUHHDT for all four years of college. Her last two years on the team, Sami was a Captain; helping coordinate, choreograph, and organize the team of over 20 dancers. Anybody who knows Sami knows that she is a huge Disney fan. In 2014, she even participated in the Disney College Program in Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. She spent one semester working for the mouse, and taking classes at Disney University. After having so much fun during those five months making magical moments for the guests at the Magic Kingdom, Sami tries to bring that Disney joy into her everyday life. One of the best memories she has from the program was getting to perform on the House of Blues stage in Disney Springs. If she isn't dancing, or working, you will almost always find Sami with her family... and now she is beyond excited to be a part of the amazing Summit Dance Co. family! She is so proud of her mom and big sister for creating a safe and welcoming environment for dancers to grow and find their love for dance. Fun fact: did you know Sami created the Summit Dance Co. logo?
